On My Own Terms ~ making space is a pop-up art exhibit running alongside Everything, All at Once, a Story Slam celebrating June's intersecting histories — Juneteenth, Pride, Immigrant Heritage, Men’s Mental Health month and the many lived experiences they hold.

Curated by Julia Ivanisova and Barbara Colaciello, the exhibit invites artists to respond to these histories and themes through their work — painting, photography, mixed media, and all visual forms welcome.

Where the Slam brings voices to the stage, this exhibit brings them to the walls. Together they create one space that holds it all.

We are looking for work rooted in lived experience, memory, identity, and self-definition. Work that reflects what it means to exist fully, on your own terms.

Awards

• Three Guest Jurors will award a $100 First Place Prize

• Second and Third Place artists will receive Honorable Mentions

Submission Guidelines

• Artists may submit up to 2 pieces of artwork

• Submission fee: $15

Notification Process

• Artists will be notified two days after submission.

• Accepted artists will then receive and sign an exhibitionagreement

Exhibition Dates

• Exhibition Runs: June 12 – July 5

• Artwork Drop-Off: Evenings of June 8 & 9

• Opening Night: June 12, alongside BABS’LAB Story Slam: Everything, All at Once
