ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
POSSESS ,A Cabinet of Obsessions, explores what it means to hold, to want, to keep, and to be kept.
What possesses you? What do you possess? What possesses us?
Curated by Barbara Colaciello and Julia Ivanisova, the exhibit invites artists to respond to the theme through wall-based visual work.
Where the Slam brings voices to the stage, this exhibit brings
them to the walls. Together, they create one space that holds it all.
POSSESS explores the complicated territory between having and being had, holding on and being held, collecting and being consumed.
We are looking for work that engages with that tension in unexpected ways. Interpret the theme literally, metaphorically, spiritually, humorously, tenderly, or however it possesses you.
If these ideas speak to your practice, we want to hear from you.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Artists may submit up to 2 pieces of artwork for consideration.
Submission fee: $15 (includes 2 pieces of art)
Wall-based visual work only: painting, drawing, photography, collage, fiber/textile work, mixed media, and boxed or shadow-box pieces
Due to space limitations, we cannot accommodate freestanding sculpture or large 3D work
To submit:
Register and pay the $15 submission fee using the link below and complete the submission form.
Include the title, medium, dimensions, and a brief statement of 100 words or fewer describing how the work responds to the theme.
E-mail images of your work to Juliaivanisova@gmail.com.
IMPORTANT: The submission form must be completed before artwork will be considered.

NOTIFICATION PROCESS
Artists will be notified on a rolling basis. Accepted artists will receive an exhibition agreement and additional information regarding the show.
