The JAX Film Salon is a new monthly series celebrating Jacksonville’s independent filmmakers through intimate screenings and conversation. Each Salon features award-winning films by artists from our region, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and creative team. It’s an opportunity to experience the films, meet the people behind them, and connect with the stories being created right here in Jacksonville.

The Salon is brought to life by Barbara Colaciello, Founder and Artistic director; Adam Madrid, Technical Director; and
Jaron Wallace, guest curator.

From Jacksonville to Cannes!

Jacksonville native and FSCJ alum Jaron Wallace is a distinctive filmmaker who blends dark comedy with raw, emotional storytelling, exploring trauma, addiction, loss, and self-discovery with equal parts absurdity and honesty.

In 2023, Jaron and his team, Jartoman, made history when Threshold won International Grand Champion at Filmapalooza, becoming the first U.S. team in 12 years to claim the title. The film went on to screen at Cannes.

A versatile filmmaker and recipient of the $10,000 Jacksonville Fostering Filmmakers Grant, Jaron brings Threshold and a selection of his award-winning films to the JAX Film Salon, showcasing the distinctive voice and collaborative spirit behind his work.
