Please join us for a magical, fun night of TALES + MUSIC + ART + TREATS + LIBATIONS.

STORY SLAMS offer an opportunity for people to share a true story, hone the craft of oral storytelling, and connect with community. Storytellers have 5 to 7 minutes each to tell a TRUE personal story based on a THEME chosen for the event without the use of notes.

First-timers WELCOME!!!

Audience members get to vote for their fave storyteller! The winner of the popular vote receives a $50.00 Gift Certificate to WOLF & CUB, our favorite downtown Jax sponsor retail shop.

WHAT'S A STORY SLAM?

A story slam is a live storytelling friendly competition similar to poetry slams. Storytellers have 5 to 7 minutes each to tell a TRUE personal story based on a THEME chosen for the event without the use of notes.

HOW IT WORKS

• Every story slam event has a THEME.

• Audience members can prepare a story and enter their name in a hat or decide to sit back and listen.

• 8 - 10 people's names are picked from the hat.

• At the end of the evening the audience votes for their favorite storyteller.

• The winner receives a $50.00 gift certificate!

STORY SLAM RULES

•Story must connect to the Theme.

•No notes.

•No props.

•Please no ranting, no preaching, no politicizing.

*Story must be within the time limit of 8 to 10 minutes.
