The JAX Film Salon is a new monthly series celebrating Jacksonville's independent filmmakers through intimate screenings and conversation. Each Salon features award-winning films by artists from our region, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and creative team — an intentional, personal gathering that brings thought-provoking cinema to new audiences.

MEET ALEXA WINT

Alexa Wint is a filmmaker who knows how to tell a story, and she knows how to make it matter.

A director and producer working across television commercials, music videos, narrative shorts, and documentaries, Alexa has built an impressive body of work that has earned awards for Best Film, Best Writing, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography.
Her documentary short Giving Hope did more than tell a powerful story. It helped raise more than $15,000 for the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, turning filmmaking into tangible support for people facing cancer.

Through the Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project, Alexa has led teams to three city wins — 2021, 2023, and 2025.She's also a multiple award winner at the LOL Jax Film Festival and took home Best Film in 2023 at the Creative Veins Naughty or Nice Film Challenge.

For this JAX Film Salon, Alexa brings five of her award-winning films — spanning drama, horror-comedy, and family adventure — for an evening that offers a rare look at the range, creativity, and talent coming out of Jacksonville..

The Jax Film Salon is dedicated to showcasing award-winning films by Jacksonville filmmakers, exposing the city to the incredible talent right in our backyard.

We aim to build diverse audiences beyond traditional film circles — inviting the broader arts community alongside neighbors, curious minds, and anyone drawn to a good story, to experience, connect, and be inspired.
