BABS’LAB is proud to present Life on the Diagonal, a deliciously quirky evening of storytelling through monologues, original music, and poetry. Written and performed by the Artistic Director of BABS’LAB, Barbara Colaciello, this one-woman show celebrates life’s mysteries and imperfections with humor, sexuality and a little A.D.D. madness.

Colaciello steers us on a bumpy ride that weaves and diverges from her Italian Catholic upbringing in New York to her present incarnation as a mother, educator, caregiver of her 96 year old mother, and artist in Northeast Florida. Along the way, fueled by her vocabulary of self-definition, she takes her listeners on an intense, yet funny journey through an experience-strewn landscape, into and beyond the “land of should”.

ABOUT BARBARA

Multi-faceted artist Barbara Colaciello began her career as the Advertising Director of Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine at The Factory in New York City. Over the years, she has worked extensively as an actress, director, playwright, educator and narrative coach.

A 2013 TEDxJacksonville Speaker, Barbara was voted Best Actor by Folio Weekly’s 2016 Best of Jax readership. Her company Improv to the Rescue specializes in experiential and creative learning to enhance communication skills, develop storytellers and encourage collaboration through workshops, classes and coaching.
